Oh fuck. But we'll get back to that.
So I'm starting this blog to mock my sister (PlaysWithGlue). I mean, did you see my title and user name - PlaysWithBooze? What could be funnier AND more appropriate? On the weekends she's usually scrapbooking - you don't get to be published two consecutive months in Creating Keepsake's without practicing. Same goes for me - you don't get to be able to drink (almost) an entire bottle of Jack in one day without a little practice either. True story. At first I was impressed the time my friend Andrea and I drank almost an entire bottle one night before hitting the town. But the day I met my boyfriend's parent's I accomplished that task singlehandedly. But anyway, we're getting off track here.
Back to the "Oh fuck."
Since this blog is also somewhat about scrapbooking (more specifically not necessarily "good" scrapbooking but "done" scrapbooking) I plan on sharing some of my layouts. So in my haste to remove my latest layout from it's page protector, I ripped one of my precious memories! As in, ripped the back page off of my 7th grade Future Problem Solving Scenario Writing essay that earned me Honorable Mention (that bitch PlaysWithGlue took 5th place that year - she's always trying to one up me). I mean shit, I've saved this memory for 19 years!! And in one fell swoop I carelessly ripped it up. And all to show you a layout that isn't that good!
So... the layout. Here it is. As I said, not that great. If you look closesly, the hearts on the bottom are going sideways for crying outloud. I'm sure on some level, someone who uses an Ott Light is freaking out that my colors don't match. I mean, I've blended like 5 year old KI embellishments with freaking $1 pack Valentine's paper I think I got at Target.
Did I mention my boyfriend saw this layout? His comment "You look like your brother." Yes dear, in 7th grade for some reason I thought the pixie cut was a good idea (just an FYI, if you don't have boobs, don't get a pixie cut). And if you haven't figured it out by now, I would be the "boy" in the middle.
So here it is, my first blog and "not good but done" layout. Enjoy!
Oh, and PlaysWithGlue totally has blog-background envy. The swirly pattern is mine - hands off!
Oh, and to make matters worse, I was even attempting a decent scraplift of the Fall 2011 cover of scrapbook & cards TODAY. My appologies to Kelly Goree and her super cute layout!
